The apache blues were an army air cav unit that fought in vietnam. They went out in platoons pretty much every day on search and rescue missions as well as seek and destroy missions where contact was very likely. I was wondering is this or a comparable unit still existed.
I believe you are referring to 1st Squadron, 9th Regiment, 1st Air Cav. They operated as airborne Recon and had a blue platoon, red platoon, and choppers that used the call sign Apache. If this is the unit, they are still active and they are still capable of recon, scout, sniper, etc.
