Forensic science has to cooraborate the story that is put together as a result of investigation.
Actually, lineups are losing a lot of credibility as more and more data comes out on the percentage of false identifications. But investigation is always the main driving force. CSI is just one part of it.
No. The line ups and confessions pretty much seal the deal. Crime Scene investigation is a great foundation to determine which suspects to interview and is the icing on the cake.
Alot of crimes are solved with interrogations, line ups are unreliable and should never be used in my opinion.
